Welcome to Codito BTP.
You are receiving the very first edition of this newsletter. If you lead a construction business and artificial intelligence interests you — even from a distance — you are in the right place. Let me explain why.

📊 Why this newsletter exists
The construction industry needs AI. But nobody speaks its language.
My name is Emile Chalmé. I run Codito Ergo Sum, a team of 30 people — developers, AI engineers, project managers. We are the first AI agency in France to specialize entirely in the BTP sector. And we are certified by Anthropic, the global leader in artificial intelligence.
Why construction? Because today, when a construction business leader wants to bring AI into their company, they have three options. And none of them really works:
1. The in-house team. The CIOs and IT teams of construction companies know the business challenges inside out — that is their strength. But they specialize in development, infrastructure and maintenance. Not in artificial intelligence. AI is a profession in its own right. Our approach is precisely to work hand in hand with these in-house teams, bringing the pure AI expertise they don't have.
2. Software vendors and publishers. They bolt "AI" modules onto their software. But these solutions are generic, not suited to the realities on the ground — the job site, subcontractors, tenders, utility clearance requests (DICT), progress statements. It just doesn't fit.
3. Training courses. Useful for understanding the basics, but not enough to deploy real solutions. Knowing what ChatGPT is, that's fine. Knowing how AI can win you back 1,200 hours a year of duplicate data entry — that's something else.
We exist precisely to fill that gap. Codito Ergo Sum is AI expertise applied to the BTP sector. We don't do generic AI vaguely adapted to your industry. We speak your language — quotes, quantity take-offs, subcontractors, schedules, tenders — and we build solutions that address your real problems.
Nobody else does this in France today. We are the first. And with the Anthropic certification — the global leader in artificial intelligence — we have the expertise and the positioning to guide the French construction industry through this transformation.

🎯 AI in the BTP sector: where do we stand?
Under 10% adoption, yet 70% of business owners convinced
The numbers speak for themselves. The Observatoire des Métiers du BTP and the FNTP have just published their major national study on AI in construction. Here is what stands out:
The state of play
Under 10% of construction companies actually use AI today
70% of companies use or plan to adopt AI — up 15 points in one year
63% of business leaders see AI as a high-potential tool for their business
87% believe AI will transform the construction sector
In other words: the vast majority of construction business owners know they need to make the move. But in practice, almost nobody has really started. Why? Because the main obstacle isn't budget or willingness. It's the lack of a specialist who understands both AI and the BTP sector.
Business owners want certainty about their return on investment before taking the plunge. That's legitimate. Except nobody gives them that certainty, because nobody takes the time to dive into their operational reality and put figures on the concrete gains.
That is precisely what we do. And that's why a player like us was missing — an AI agency that doesn't just talk to developers or CIOs, but to construction business leaders, in their language, with measurable results.
The global market
The AI-in-construction market: $4.86 billion in 2025, $22.68 billion in 2032. The train has left the station. The question is no longer "should we go?" — it's "with whom?"
